Amber: Grew up in Taiwan and studied in the United States at age 23, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree at Northern Arizona University, and was awarded a Master Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language at Arizona State University. In 1998, I published a series of ESL textbooks for elementary schools, and hosted an English teaching program on TV in Taiwan. I moved to California in 2000. At first, I taught Chinese at American Chinese School, and later earned my adult education credential at UCLA in 2007. During this time until now, I am not only teaching my two kids to learn Chinese, but also providing Chinese tutoring to K-12 students in small groups. I started to teach adult education at Hacienda La Puente Unified School District since 2007. My current assignments are Chinese 1A, Chinese 1B, and ESL/ Citizenship. I have enjoyed teaching a lot since my students are all engaged in learning the second or even the third language. My goal is to create a fun environment in order to learn the language.
